Kick-start your winter skin prep and combat dry, sensitive and irritated skin. Now’s the time to replenish, rehydrate and promote healthy skin turnover.

As the temperatures drops, it becomes essential to amp up your skincare regimen in order to bolster it against the nasty effects of dehydration.

Winter is a time to focus on nourishing and repairing your skin to ensure it looks and feels soft, smooth and supple. One of the most effective methods of doing this is a skin resurfacing procedure to reveal new, healthy skin.

Platinum Dermatology offers a range of rejuvenating skin treatments and laser-resurfacing procedures to improve sun-damaged skin and prepare it for the harsh effects of winter ahead. These treatments can be used together or in combination to address an array of skin problems.

What is skin resurfacing?

If ageing, acne or too much time in the sun has left your face with blotches, scars, wrinkles or lines, laser skin resurfacing may be the solution for you.

Laser skin resurfacing evenly removes damaged skin layers without chemicals or mechanical abrasion. The new skin cells that form during healing give the skin a smoother, more even and brighter appearance.

Laser skin resurfacing can improve a variety of skin conditions. It can smooth lines and wrinkles, including around the eyes and mouth, target pigmentation and acne scarring, and improve skin texture and tone.

What are my options?

Platinum Dermatology offers a range of options in treating a wide variety of skin conditions using Sciton laser resurfacing treatments, which combine fractional and non-ablative lasers and pulsed light technologies. This allows Platinum Dermatology’s skin specialists to tailor personalised treatment regimens for your best skin possible.

Ablative (wounding) lasers are used to smooth and tighten your complexion, and are one of the most effective cosmetic procedures for improving ageing skin. The procedure works by removing the outer layers of aged and sun-damaged skin and stimulate collagen growth. While fractional ablative laser resurfacing treatment typically has several days of downtime, the results can take 10 years off a person’s appearance.

Non-ablative (non-wounding) lasers are also effective at removing the top layers of skin but are gentler and require less downtime.

Platinum Dermatology also offers Broadband Light BBL/Intense Pulsed Light therapies [insert link] and Micro Laser Peels [insert link] to cater to your individual needs in terms of desired results and downtime.

And the results?

Your skin will look fresher, more radiant and youthful. You will notice an improvement in skin texture and tone, pigment irregularities, lines and wrinkles, as well as acne scars and melasma.
